The lily pond in the side yard is in bloom! I tweaked this shot a little in Lightroom -- version 1.1 (just released) has new sharpening controls which help you get the most out of your shots!
sharpening really is best described as a way to preserve sharpness that's already in a photo when moving it from one medium to another. So it's often used before printing a digital image, for example.
But if you try to sharpen a blurry photo you pretty much just end up with artifacts where it artificially invents contrast based on a spec of dust or a wrinkle in the original print, etc...
